What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)? This is a question we answer in a video discussion with four physicians from York County. Hosted by Dr. Matthew Howie, president of the York County Medical Society and a primary care physician, he discusses this relatively new approach to the practice and delivery of patient primary care called Direct Primary Care with doctors Christina N. Doll, Lauren C. Heagy and Quincy Harberger.

In a wide ranging discussion, this group talks about the challenges facing doctors and their patients in the current environment of medicine managed by third parties - insurance companies, why these doctors were motivated to change their business model and what are the obstacles and support systems to facilitate this transition to a medical model that benefits physician sanity and especially the well being of their patients.

This is an abreviated version of the full program covering the essence what DPC is along with pros and cons. This is the entire DPC Program recorded on November 10, 2025.
